POSITION OBJECTIVE

We are seeking a Project Manager to join the team at C.W. Matthews Contracting Company. This position is an opportunity to lead major projects, coordinate with owners and subcontractors, and oversee field operations while ensuring timely and budget-conscious project execution. We are looking for a team-oriented leader with strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving. POSITION KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and alignment between owners, subcontractors, and project teams.
  • Supervise field operations to guarantee compliance with safety, quality, and performance standards.
  • Maintain financial control by tracking costs and ensuring adherence to project budgets.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules using P6 scheduling software to keep projects on track.
  • Review contracts and specifications to ensure all obligations and deliverables are met.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to Foremen, Superintendents, and project teams to ensure successful execution.
  • Identify and implement creative solutions that enhance project efficiency and profitability.
  • Support technical and administrative functions, including documentation, compliance tracking, and progress reporting.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in similar roles, preferably with previous DOT project delivery and design-build experience.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks daily and complete tasks with a sense of urgency.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Technical proficiency with P6 Scheduling, Bluebeam, Accounting Software, and Microsoft Office, along with other relevant technology.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate and address project challenges.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating across multiple teams.
  • Knowledge of construction safety regulations and best practices.
  • Experience with large-scale infrastructure projects and complex scheduling.
  • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and work under pressure.
  • Understanding of contract negotiations and project risk assessment.
