Job Title: Registrar – Patient Access

📍 Location: Hackettstown, NJ 07840

🕒 Schedule: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Fridays & Saturdays, twice per month; additional shifts may be available)

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Registrar to join our Patient Access team at Hackettstown . The Registrar is the first point of contact for patients and plays a crucial role in the healthcare revenue cycle by ensuring the accurate collection and entry of patient demographic and insurance information.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients at various hospital entry points
• Create and/or update medical records by accurately collecting demographic and insurance details
• Verify insurance eligibility and coverage in real-time
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and Joint Commission requirements by distributing and collecting forms such as:
• Patient Bill of Rights
• HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices
• Important Message from Medicare (IMM)
• Maintain high standards for data accuracy and integrity
• Support administrative processes that impact billing, coding, and patient care continuity

Required Skills & Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (required)
• Experience in registration or patient access roles (preferred)
• Working knowledge of medical terminology (highly preferred)
• Ability to operate computer systems and maintain confidentiality
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Must be able to work overnight shifts and be located within 30 minutes of the facility

Preferred Attributes

• Previous experience in a healthcare or hospital setting
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
• Dependable, flexible, and able to work independently
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with direct patient interaction
