Position Summary:
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant maintenance, facilities, and utilities to minimize downtime and ensure optimal efficiency. The Maintenance Manager plays a critical role in maintaining equipment reliability, safety, and operational effectiveness.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related technical field (preferred).
- 5+ years of management experience in a food manufacturing environment .
- Strong knowledge of asset reliability, preventive maintenance, and operational efficiency strategies .
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and SAP (preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project, and CADD .
- Expertise in PLC and logic controls for high-speed operating equipment.
- Experience managing MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) spend, cost-saving initiatives, and inventory control .
- Understanding of HVAC, air compressors, and ammonia refrigeration systems (preferred).
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance & Equipment Reliability:
- Lead, mentor, and manage the maintenance team , fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure maximum equipment uptime and operational efficiency.
- Oversee work order and PM scheduling , ensuring timely execution to meet production demands.
- Provide technical expertise on troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and PLC systems .
- Utilize maintenance hand tools and specialty tools to repair and optimize equipment performance.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, and schematics for proper operation and repairs.
- Ensure air compressors, HVAC systems, and other critical plant utilities function at peak efficiency.
- Support and oversee ammonia refrigeration system maintenance and troubleshooting where applicable.
Leadership & Team Development:
- Establish clear objectives, SOPs, and performance standards for maintenance staff.
- Train, mentor, and support team members in technical knowledge and professional development .
- Foster strong relationships with employees at all levels to drive engagement and teamwork.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing coaching and development opportunities.
Operational & Budgetary Efficiency:
- Analyze and report on maintenance performance metrics , identifying areas for improvement.
- Develop and manage maintenance budgets , focusing on cost control and efficiency initiatives.
- Optimize MRO inventory management to reduce waste and maintain cost-effective operations.
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and operational standards , investigating and resolving any non-compliance issues.
