HAPS Surge Test Operator

Status: Full Time

Location: Morarity, NM

Position Overview

We are seeking skilled Test Operators for our High-Altitude Platform Station (HAPS) program. These operators will conduct comprehensive testing of flight test vehicles, from subsystem validation to full-system integration testing. This hands-on role offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge aerospace technology in a dynamic test environment. This position is expected to last 4–6 months , with a planned start date in April 2025 .

Key Responsibilities

· Execute end-to-end test procedures for HAPS test vehicles

· Perform subsystem and full-system level testing

· Participate in environmental testing campaigns

· Operate test equipment and data acquisition systems

· Simulate flight operator duties during ground testing scenarios

· Generate daily test reports and contribute to formal test documentation

· Assist in basic troubleshooting of electrical and software issues

· Maintain detailed test logs and documentation

· Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve test anomalies

· Follow strict quality control and safety procedures

Required Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Basic understanding of electrical systems and software concepts

· Strong computer literacy

· Ability to follow detailed technical procedures

· Excellent attention to detail

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

· Understanding of flight systems and aerospace testing

· Experience with environmental testing (TVAC, EMI, RF)

· Background in aviation or aerospace industries

· Familiarity with test automation and scripting

· Experience with technical documentation and report writing

· Knowledge of quality assurance practices

Physical Requirements

· Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds

· Capable of standing and walking for extended periods

· Able to work in various environmental conditions (lab, cleanroom, test facility)

· Visual acuity to read detailed procedures and technical documentation

Additional Requirements

· REQUIRED: Flexibility to work extended hours, nights, and weekends during critical test phases

· Must be able to work on-site

· Must be detail-oriented and safety-conscious

· Ability to maintain focus during extended test operations

· Must be able to pass required background checks

· Authorization to work in the United States

Work Environment

· Professional laboratory and test facility environment

· Clean room operations may be required

· Climate-controlled indoor environment

· Exposure to various test equipment and instrumentation

· Occasional exposure to loud noises and technical equipment
