This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Data Engineer at Expression in the United States.

In this role, you will design, build, and optimize data pipelines and platforms that ensure high-quality, governed, and reliable data across enterprise systems. You will collaborate closely with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to deliver scalable ETL/ELT solutions, support analytics use cases, and implement robust data models. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge data tools, cloud technologies, and AI-assisted workflows in a remote-first, collaborative environment. You will contribute to system improvements, research emerging technologies, and ensure data accessibility, accuracy, and performance for operational and analytical needs. Your work will directly influence data-driven decision-making and the overall efficiency of the organization’s data ecosystem.

Accountabilities:

  • Build, maintain, and optimize data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, validating, and securing data
  • Develop and enhance scalable ETL/ELT processes and data models for analytics and operational use cases
  • Apply data quality checks, monitoring, and documentation to ensure reliability and accuracy
  • Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to understand data requirements and support analytics initiatives
  • Contribute to the development, tooling, and automation of the data platform
  • Research and prototype emerging data and analytics technologies, including AI-driven solutions
  • Follow engineering best practices and provide input to improve system performance, reliability, and developer experience
  • Requirements:

  • 4–7 years of combined experience and education in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or related fields
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines and working with data warehouses, lakes, or analytics platforms
  • Strong Python development skills and proficiency in SQL, including performance tuning
  • Familiarity with data visualization/BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Superset
  • Experience with modern data tooling and cloud-based solutions (AWS/Azure preferred)
  • Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote-first, collaborative environment
  • Preferred: experience with generative AI tools and agile/iterative development workflows
  • Security clearance eligibility required; Top Secret clearance is a plus
