Job Description

The CPA – Accounting Practice Lead will be responsible for launching and managing the firm's accounting services division. This individual will oversee all accounting operations and contribute to strategic business development initiatives. You will also build on our current service offerings, manage client relationships, and align accounting services with broader wealth management strategies. Ideal for a CPA with a strong practice foundation and entrepreneurial spirit.

Key Responsibilities:

Practice Management

• Lead and grow the firm’s accounting service line.
• Develop internal processes, standards, and service packages tailored to our clients’ needs.
• Manage the operations of the accounting department, including workflow, staffing, and resource allocation.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.
• Monitor performance metrics and continuously improve processes for quality and efficiency

Client-Focused Accounting Services

• Prepare and review financial statements, tax returns, and filings for high-net-worth individuals, small businesses, trusts, and estates.
• Provide tax planning and financial consulting as part of an integrated wealth strategy.
• Collaborate with advisors and planners to deliver seamless, end-to-end client service.
• Conduct financial reviews and support clients in bookkeeping, budgeting, cash flow, and business planning.

Strategic Growth & Business Development

• Support the identification and pursuit of new business opportunities including cross-sell accounting services to existing wealth management and qualified retirement plan clients.
• Support new client acquisition by integrating accounting services into the firm’s value proposition.
• Work closely with leadership to refine pricing models, service structures, and marketing strategies.
• Represent the firm in industry networks, client meetings, and strategic partnerships.

Qualifications:

• Active CPA license required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in accounting, The ideal candidate will have experience in tax planning and practice management.
• Experience with tax planning and preparing tax returns for corporations, partnerships, real estate investors, trust & estates.
• Strong technical knowledge of tax law, GAAP, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal and client relationship skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Background in advisory services or experience working alongside financial planners.
• Experience with entity formation, bookkeeping and tax planning.
• Familiarity with wealth management CRMs and accounting platforms (e.g., CCH, UltraTax, Xero, QuickBooks).
• Entrepreneurial mindset with an interest in building something new within a growing firm.
