Job Title: Product Designer (Technical Apparel Designer)

Location: Beaverton, OR (Onsite)

Duration: 6 Months

Type: Full-Time, Contract

Description:

This role focuses on research and development of women’s performance training apparel from conception to retail. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ideate, engineer, and deliver innovative product concepts that blend technical performance with style.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ideation & Visioning: Generate performance-driven product concepts that align with business goals and consumer needs.
• Research/Engineering: Develop prototypes using advanced materials/construction; validate through testing.
• Project Management: Lead innovation projects with product creation, manufacturing, and vendors.
• Communication: Present concepts and technical insights to stakeholders.

Top 5-7 Skills:

• Technical Apparel Design – Expertise in women’s training/yoga/athletics apparel.
• Sketching & Rendering – Proficient in 2D sketches; CLO/AI tools (e.g., Midjourney) a plus.
• Material Innovation – Knowledge of performance fabrics and construction.
• Creative Direction – Ability to merge style with technical functionality.
• Prototyping & Fitting – Hands-on experience engineering wearables.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work with Product Creation, Manufacturing, and Vendors.
• Portfolio Excellence – Showcases creativity, technical skill, and consumer-focused design.

Requirements for the Role:

• Lead end-to-end design for women’s performance training apparel.
• Deliver portfolio demonstrating women’s athleticwear designs (mandatory).
• Thrive in fast-paced environments; quickly adapt to active projects.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Apparel Design, Fashion, or related field.
• 8+ years in performance/athletic apparel design (women’s training/yoga focus required).
• Alternatives:
• PhD/Law + 6 yrs | Master’s + 7 yrs | Associate’s + 9 yrs | HS Diploma + 10 yrs.

Additional Notes:

• Portfolio Must: Inspire with creativity, style, and technical execution.
• Team: Works with the Apparel Performance Wear team.
• HM Priority: Candidates with proven women’s athleticwear design experience.
