Role Specifics and Benefits: Your day-to-day responsibilities include performing PICC line care: dressing changes, line flushes with prescribed solutions, validating line functionality, monitoring for signs of infection or thrombosis, ensuring sterile technique, and accurately documenting care in patient records. You’ll educate patients and families about catheter care, flush schedules, and activity precautions, promoting adherence and reducing complications. You’ll collaborate with vascular access teams, interventional radiology, and inpatient units to coordinate timely line assessments, removals when appropriate, and transitions to alternative access if needed.
