Seeking a surgery financial counselor for our robust ENT specialty practice. This position requires an individual with an in-depth understanding of health insurance plans and policies, great customer service and a positive attitude. 3-5 years of direct experience with healthcare insurers is preferred, of which no less than 1 year experience procuring prior authorizations is required. This is not a remote position.
Job Responsibilities
· Obtaining prior authorizations for surgical procedures
· Patient counseling regarding their benefits
· Collecting pre-payments
· Verifying insurance eligibility and benefits
· Working collaboratively with third-party vendors
· Maintain patient confidentiality by following HIPAA guidelines and regulations
Requirements
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and insurance companies
· Analytical skills to assess patient financial responsibility
· Proficiency with various payor portals and websites
· Strong understanding of medical billing codes and insurance policies
