🚛 Service Advisor / Writer – Heavy Equipment

📍 Location: Elmhurst, IL | Full-Time

IN DEMAND Recruitment & Consulting Inc. is currently hiring a Service Advisor / Writer on behalf of a well-established and reputable client in Elmhurst, IL .

As a Service Advisor / Writer , you’ll be a key front-line representative of the service department, building strong relationships with customers and ensuring service operations run smoothly. You’ll play a critical role in the customer experience, from intake and inspections to updates and service closure.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Serve as the main point of contact for service customers—documenting equipment issues and verifying information
• Open and manage repair orders in the system; obtain proper authorizations and signatures
• Coordinate with the Shop Foreman to manage workflow and status updates
• Perform daily walkarounds of the equipment yard to visually confirm asset status
• Keep customers informed on service progress and any changes to estimates or repair needs
• Accurately explain cost and timing of work being performed
• Answer inbound calls and provide updates on work in progress
• Ensure timely work order closure and maintain organized documentation
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver seamless service

What You Bring:

• 3+ years of experience in equipment or automotive service
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Detail-oriented with excellent time management and organizational abilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other digital tools (CDK or similar systems is an asset)
• Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, service-driven environment
• High School Diploma required; College education preferred
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Able to pass a pre-employment background check
