— Design and balance complex game economy systems featuring multiple currencies, progression systems, sinks, sources, and monetization points.
— Develop post-launch economies, integrating limited-time events, reward structures, and purchases, adapting to support new features throughout the product lifecycle.
— Collaborate with the analytics team to collect and analyze data on economy, engagement, and monetization.
— Provide insightful reports, suggesting and implementing optimizations to enhance performance.
— Act as the resident authority on specific areas of the game economy, overseeing daily updates and content pricing.
— Establish and fine-tune the economy, focusing on metrics such as engagement time, retention, GGR, and LTV.
— Take full ownership of game monetization, managing pricing of virtual goods and balancing incentivized and purchased items.
— Recommend rewards and monetization features to create a robust economic system that meets player needs.
— Provide comprehensive documentation, diagrams, calculation models, analyses, wireframes, and prototypes.
— Communicate the holistic view of the game economy to facilitate vetting of concepts and ideas.
— Minimum of 3 years designing digital game economies, with at least 1 year optimizing for live service games.
— Proven success in game system design, balancing, pacing, and monetization strategies.
— Highly analytical with expertise in building models and tools for simulating and analyzing game economies and player behavior.
— Strong econometrics skills, capable of translating problems into quantitative systems.
— Proficiency in spreadsheet management and manipulation of large datasets.
— Bonus points for experience with SQL, programming languages (Python, C#, VBA), and testing methods (A/B, multivariate, statistical hypothesis).
— Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics (preferred).
— Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
— Fluent in English.
— Knowledge of microeconomics and pricing theory.
— Passion for various game formats, including board games, card games, sports, casino, casual games, RPGs etc
