Job Description

A well-established construction firm is seeking an experienced Estimator to join the team. This role involves estimating a variety of projects, including educational, industrial, commercial, multifamily, mixed-use, and more. The ideal candidate will be highly detail-oriented, able to work independently and within a team, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue leads for potential projects to bid.
  • Distribute bid invitations based on project specifications and drawings.
  • Manage subcontractors and users within the company directory.
  • Develop material and labor takeoffs for self-performed work.
  • Obtain and analyze subcontractor pricing.
  • Establish baseline budgets and project schedules.
  • Organize and maintain a centralized cost-estimating database.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide cost analyses for change orders.
  • Evaluate project proposals and offer feedback to stakeholders.
  • Assess project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Compare estimated costs to actual project costs to identify discrepancies.
  • Recommend improvements to cost-estimating procedures.
  • Identify cost trends to support cost reduction and process improvement efforts.
  • Assist with design coordination and value engineering (VE) initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience estimating commercial construction projects for a general contractor.
  • Strong knowledge of the commercial construction industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
  • Experience with Procore is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license.
