GPI Design's team consists of designers and engineers who offer principal-level involvement, attention to detail, and a collaborative spirit to bring creative visions to life.

Role Description

GPI is hiring a Construction Manager for our design-build firm in Westlake, OH .

This role involves in-field project management, client communication, coordination with contract requirements, field conditions, project schedules, and travel to jobsites across the U.S.

Hands-on construction experience is required.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of of progressive construction project management experience, ideally overseeing mid-to-large scale commercial or institutional projects.
• Preferred background in construction field work, carpentry, electrical, or stone masonry .
• Proficient in interpreting blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications.

Qualifications

• Understanding of the construction process in commercial builds and experience handling written and verbal communication with clients
• Own projects end-to-end—from strategic planning through on-site execution to punch-list close-out
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and contractual requirements
• Ability to manage multiple project schedules in various phases, from design through material ordering through installation
• Interpret and act on construction drawings, benchmarks, and specifications accurately
• Mentor crews, subcontractors, and junior staff, fostering a respectful, collaborative environment
• Thrives in a small team environment where each member bears significant responsibility
• Ability to work independently with little direction
• Extremely detail-oriented and organized
• Ability to travel for 2 week durations at a time
• BONUS Skills: AutoCAD or Revit
