Job Description

Job Title: Senior Buyer

Reports To: Director of Operations

Job Summary:

The Senior Buyer is responsible for leading purchasing strategies and managing key procurement activities for specific product categories. This role ensures that the Company gets quality goods and services at competitive prices while working with reliable suppliers. The Senior Buyer also supports the procurement team with both strategic planning and day-to-day tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, training, and support to other members of the purchasing team.
  • Develop and manage strategies for assigned product categories to meet procurement goals.
  • Negotiate and manage long-term pricing agreements for important materials and products.
  • Identify and develop new suppliers while monitoring current supplier performance.
  • Support logistics operations and manage agreements with shipping providers (e.g., FedEx, UPS).

Vendor/Supplier Management:

  • Evaluate and qualify new suppliers; negotiate pricing and contract terms.
  • Monitor and track supplier performance to ensure they meet quality and delivery standards.
  • Work with suppliers to resolve issues and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Visit supplier sites as needed for evaluation and corrective action.

Other Duties:

  • Create and manage purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of quality products.
  • Solicit bids and choose suppliers offering the best value.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support production and aftermarket needs.
  • Communicate with team members and outside contacts to solve supply-related issues.
  • Keep stakeholders updated on order progress, contract changes, and delivery timelines.
  • Ensure suppliers provide the right pricing, technical support, and product reliability.
  • Handle domestic and international purchasing, including order entry
