St. Andrews is seeking a security officer for the 11 p.m. 7 a.m. Sunday Monday Tuesday Friday and Saturday shift who will operate the welcome center provide surveillance of campus grounds and protect our students faculty staff and visitors. Security has an on-campus presence 24/7. This person must have strong people skills a strong work ethic and excellent judgment. Shifts include various hours including night weekend and holiday shifts that involve considerable exposure to all weather elements.

Qualifications

Job Responsibilities

• Monitor and authorize the entrance of vehicles and/or people on the property.
• Secure premises by patrolling regularly either on foot or in a vehicle.
• Monitor surveillance equipment.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Adhere to all St. Andrews operating procedures.
• Immediately respond to emergencies to provide necessary assistance to students employees and customers.
• Physically demanding tasks may include walking (4-5 miles/day) running short distances squatting bending being able to lift 45 lbs or more (potentially removing a victim from harms way) climbing and handling a physical confrontation.
• Provide medical assistance administering CPR AED or first aid as needed.

Skills and experience

• Must be at least 20 years of age.
• Must be a high school graduate or possess a high school equivalency certificate.
• Possession of valid drivers license (not suspended revoked or cancelled or disqualified from driving).

Physical Demands

• Position works outdoors in all weather conditions withstand exposure to inclement weather
• Be able to lift and or carry a minimum of 45 pounds.
• Must be able to stay on feet for hours at a time as the position spends a significant amount of time patrolling school grounds and building.
• The work environment involves some exposure to hazardous or physical risks which require following basic safety precautions.
