Safety Lead – Monroe, CT | Full-Time

Schedule: Monday – Friday (Flexible start between 6 AM – 9 AM | End between 2 PM – 5 PM)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Safety Lead to oversee our Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs. In this role, you will promote a strong culture of safety, ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulations, and lead ISO 14001/45001 certification efforts. This position reports directly to the VP of Operations and offers an opportunity to make a direct impact on workplace safety and employee well-being.

Responsibilities

Lead safety, environmental, and health programs across the facility.
Serve as a visible leader on the plant floor to ensure safe work practices.
Conduct site safety committee meetings, walkthroughs, and inspections.
Oversee training programs and maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA/DEEP, ISO, and DOT standards.
Perform root cause analysis for incidents and implement corrective actions.
Manage PPE inventory and ensure readiness of safety equipment.
Develop and enforce safety policies, SOPs, and emergency contingency plans.
Drive ISO 14001 and 45001 certification processes.

Qualifications

2–5+ years of EHS experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
Preferred certifications: ASP, CSP, CSHM, or CSMP; or degree in Occupational Safety or related field.
Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001/45001, NFPA, and related safety programs.
Hands-on experience with safety audits, inspections, and program development.
Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
