This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (ICU), specializing in the care of critically ill Neuro patients. The RN will provide specialized nursing and medical care to patients with conditions such as traumatic brain injury, aneurysm, status epilepticus, and stroke. The role requires strong critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills to effectively manage complex patient needs in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill Neuro patients in the Surgical ICU.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, including vital signs and neurological status.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Utilize critical thinking skills to respond to changes in patient condition and implement appropriate interventions.
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in the electronic medical record.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to maintain current knowledge and skills in critical care nursing.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York (NY License ONLY).
- Minimum of two (2) years of RN experience in an ICU acute care setting.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Telemetry Experience Required
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- EPIC experience within the last year.
Special Considerations:
- Rotating shifts (Day/Evening/Night).
- Every Other Weekend (EOW) commitment.
- Potential for Holidays/On-Call/Callback/Charge duties based on unit needs (see contract for details).
Scheduling:
- 12-hour shifts.
- Rotating Day/Evening/Night shifts.
- Every Other Weekend (EOW).
- Specific shift assignments and scheduling details are determined by unit needs and outlined in the contract.
