JOB OVERVIEW:

• Job Title: Physician, Critical Care / Pulmonology.
• Job Type: Locum Tenens.
• Location: Lima, OH.
• Service Setting: Inpatient | ICU | Pulmonary Consults.
• Coverage Type: Clinical + Consult + APP Oversight.
• Coverage Period: 05/13/2025 6 months (potential to extend).
• Clinical Shift Schedule: 7 on / 7 off | Day shifts: 7:00 AM 7:00 PM.
• On-Call Shift Schedule: APP night call; physician backup if required.
• Call Type: Yes (APP support); MDs may be backup.

PATIENT INFORMATION:

• Patient Demographics: Adults.
• Patient Volume/Census: ICU 812 patients; 35 inpatient pulmonary. consults/day.
• Admissions: Yes.
• Rounding: Yes.
• Phone Consults: Yes.
• Case Mix: Mixed ICU and pulmonary consult patients.

FACILITY INFORMATION:

• ICU Type: Open ICU with mandatory consult (goal to move to closed ICU).
• ICU Beds: 16.
• Hospital Beds: 150.
• EMR System: Meditech.
• Specialty Backup Available: Yes.
• Support Staff Available: APPs (day and night coverage); oversight required.
• Reason for Coverage: Coverage need (2 physicians requested).

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE:

• Hospital Privileges Required: Yes.
• Temporary Privileges Available: Yes (expedited available).
• Onboarding Requirements: Orientation, EMR, coding, and billing training required.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

• Rate: TBD.
• Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance.

REQUIRED PROCEDURES:

• General ICU procedures including:
  • Intubations.
  • Central and arterial lines.
  • Bronchoscopy.
  • Lumbar puncture.
  • Thoracentesis.
  • Paracentesis.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Licenses: Active Ohio medical license required.
• Certifications: ACLS and BLS required.
• Board Status: Board Certified in Critical Care or Pulmonary/Critical. Care (ABMS only; ABPS not accepted).
• Must submit procedure logs for credentialing.
• Experience: Recent ICU and pulmonary consult experience required.
• Other Qualifications: Must be able to perform all listed procedures.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide direct patient care in ICU and perform pulmonary consults.
• Perform all general ICU procedures independently.
• Supervise and support APPs during day and night shifts.
• Participate in onboarding including orientation and billing/coding training.
