Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner - San Leandro, CA
Compensation: $115 - 130 per hour
PLUS - $5,000 credentialing bonus!
Overview: Nexus HR is looking for a compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join a highly respected nonprofit mental health clinic in San Leandro, CA. This is a unique opportunity to practice psychiatry in a setting where access, equity, and patient care come first.

About the Job
Provide compassionate care and treatment needed for patients’ mental health well being and other relevant aspects of mental health. Identify possible mental health issues; diagnose and provide treatment plans accordingly through therapies or medications, or a combination of both. Refer patients to other allied medical and non-medical professionals to provide holistic care.

Duties and Responsibilities:
● Provide comprehensive psychiatric care within the scope of practice, including evaluation, diagnosis, and medication management
● Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to patient needs, incorporating therapy, medications, or both
● Support patients in psychiatric emergencies or crisis situations using trauma-informed and culturally competent approaches
● Build and maintain strong therapeutic relationships with patients
● Maintain accurate clinical documentation and compliance with REMS/CURES monitoring ● Work collaboratively and respectfully with an integrated team of Psychiatrists, PMHNPs, medical assistants, and support staff
Qualifications :
● Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
● Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner certification (ANCC or equivalent)
● Active California RN and NP license
● Active DEA certificate in good standing
● Experience in behavioral health medication management
● Knowledge of modern clinical psychiatry principles, including abnormal psychology, diagnostic interviewing, community psychology, and community mental health
● Experience working with underserved or low-income populations preferred
● Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
● Malpractice insurance

Schedule:
● Flexible options: full-time (preferred) or part-time (minimum 1-2 days/week)
● Must be able to commit to at least 6 months, with preference for providers who can stay 1 year or longer
● Clinical caseload of up to 25 patients a day, with flexibility depending on schedule
