• This is a FREELANCE/CONSULTING ROLE FOR ONE OF OUR CLIENTS!
• Must have own car and must be open to travel in the Salem/Haverhill, MA area.
• If knowledge of construction, telecommunications, field work, utility work, will train!!
• 100% 1099, can earn $50-100K+ total/year!!
• EVEN THOUGH IT SAYS REMOTE, MUST LIVE CLOSE TO WOODBRIDGE, NJ. IT IS A TRAVEL ROLE IN THAT AREA.

An OSP (Outside Plant) Fielder- lots of travel, in a specific geographic area

Validates and documents existing telecommunications infrastructure, such as fiber and copper cables, using detailed on-site walkouts and data collection tools.

Key responsibilities include taking measurements, photographing facilities, identifying potential obstructions or hazards, and collaborating with engineers and construction teams to ensure network designs meet industry standards and project requirements. This role requires strong attention to detail, technical knowledge of OSP construction and safety, and the ability to work outdoors in various conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Field Data Collection: Identify, photograph, and sketch detailed information on existing outside plant infrastructure, including cables, poles, terminals, and handholes.
• Measurements and Surveys: Capture accurate measurements of attachment heights, span distances, and distances to property lines and curb lines.
• Site Validation: Verify and document existing field design and layout of telecommunications networks, including aerial, buried, and underground facilities.
• Obstruction and Hazard Identification: Identify potential obstructions to fiber placement and report serious safety or quality issues immediately.
• Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, construction teams, and project managers to support network expansion and upgrades.

Qualifications and Skills

• Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of OSP fiber and copper networks, pole line construction, and conduit system design a PLUS!
• OPEN TO EXTENSIVE TRAVEL IN LOCAL AREA.
• Knowledge of GIS/Geographical Information Systems a plus!
• Proficiency with tools like measuring wheels, height sticks, GPS devices, and laser rangefinders.
• Attention to Detail: A high level of accuracy in data collection, photography, and documentation.
• Outdoor Aptitude: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
