Oncology Child Life Specialist
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Child Life, Child Development, Psychology, or related field.
- Completion of a child life internship under a Certified Child Life Specialist.
- Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) credential required.
Duties:
- Provides psychosocial support to pediatric oncology patients and families.
- Helps children cope with long-term hospitalizations and intensive treatments.
- Facilitates therapeutic play and creative expression activities.
- Assists in preparing children for chemotherapy, radiation, and surgeries.
- Works as part of an interdisciplinary team to improve the patient experience.
