Job Summary:

Join the Advanced Materials Technology (AMT) Development Team at our client’s U.S. Technical Center in Mossville, IL. This contract position focuses on ferrous metallurgy and supports R&D efforts through metallurgical testing, data analysis, and lab coordination for projects involving heat treatment, alloy development, and casting .

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support for casting , heat treatment , and steel development projects.
• Coordinate internal trials with the heat treat development lab at the direction of senior engineers.
• Manage test sample and component submissions to the on-site Metallurgical Lab ; track testing progress.
• Analyze and compile metallurgical test results for review by Client engineers.
• Perform wear testing in the lab; maintain lab equipment, testing procedures, and consumable inventories.

Required Skills:

• Working knowledge of heat treatment or foundry/manufacturing processes .
• Familiarity with metallurgical testing techniques (standard and advanced).
• Strong analytical, verbal and written communication , and problem-solving skills .
• Detail-oriented with a collaborative, team-first mindset.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 ; experience with:
• Image analysis software (e.g., ImageJ) – a plus.
• Simulation tools (e.g., JMatPro) – highly desirable.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Science and Engineering .
