Job Description
Pride Health is seeking a dedicated Medical Lab Technologist to join a dynamic healthcare team in Detroit, MI. In this role, you will perform routine and complex analytical procedures on blood and body fluid specimens, ensuring accurate and efficient diagnostic results. This position is ideal for professionals with hematology expertise and experience working on automation lines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct diagnostic testing on blood and body fluid specimens using manual techniques and laboratory instruments.
- Perform fluid cell counts, differentials, and other hematology-related analyses.
- Operate and maintain laboratory automation lines.
- Adhere to established laboratory protocols and safety standards.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure quality and timely results.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Clinical Laboratory Sciences, or a related field.
- Degrees in Chemistry, Microbiology, or Biology may be considered if coursework aligns with the position.
- Coursework from outside the U.S. must be verified by a NACES-approved credential evaluation service.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a medical laboratory setting (hematology preferred).
- Demonstrated technical proficiency and theoretical knowledge of laboratory procedures.
- Certification at the technologist level from a nationally recognized agency (e.g., ASCP, NCA, ASM, AABB, ACS, HEW).
- Hematology Specialist Certification.
Additional Information:
- Location: Detroit, MI 48202
- Schedule: 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM, rotating weekends, and holiday availability required/ 40 hours/week.
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Pay Rate: $45 - $50/hour
*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
