Job Title: Medical Coding Analyst (Remote Option After 6-12 Months training in Buffalo, NY)
Salary: $25.00 - $38.00/hour DOE + $10K Retention Bonus over 3 years
Hours: 8am-4pm (Remote option after training)
AP Executive Staffing is hiring Medical Coder/Analysts with CCS, RHIA, or RHIT and hospital billing experience to join the collaborative, supportive coding team for our customer, one of Buffalo’s top healthcare employers! As an active participant and member of the Clinical Documentation Improvement team, with the critical function of coding hospital, ER, Ambulatory, Interventional Radiology, and Local Surgery records, you will deploy your knowledge of ICD -10-CM and CPT classifications as well as medical terminology, anatomy and physiology to ensure accurate reimbursement and compliance with regulations. Typical duties will involve:
● Code medical records for various departments using ICD-9 and CPT systems
● Work with physicians and teams to clarify documentation
● Ensure accurate and complete records for reimbursement and research
● Stay up-to-date on certifications (RHIA, RHIT, CCS) and pass required tests
● Apply high attention to detail and problem-solving skills needed to maintain accurate patient data
What We Need From You:
● A degree or certification in Health Information Management/Technology (RHIT, RHIA, or equivalent)
● 6+ months of coding experience applying ICD-9-CM, CPT coding, and medical terminology
● Demonstrated experience collaborating across function teams (i.e. Medical staff, Department Managers, CDI Specialists and Finance)
Skill/Experience Preferences:
● Strong communication and organizational skills
● Proficiency in using computers and medical software
