Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Medical Assistant located in Jal, NM. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for a variety of tasks including recording patient history and personal information, measuring vital signs, assisting with medical examinations, administering medications and injections, and preparing blood samples for laboratory tests. They will also provide patient education and support, manage appointment schedules, and maintain accurate medical records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures
- Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and symptoms
- Prepare exam rooms and ensure cleanliness and proper equipment setup
- Administer basic treatments, such as injections or wound care (as permitted by certification)
- Handle front desk duties, sometimes including scheduling appointments and managing patient records
- Medication reconciliation
- Educate patients on medication, health procedures, and wellness practices
- Maintain compliance with clinic policies and healthcare regulations
- Collaborate with the clinical team to enhance patient experience and efficiency
Qualifications:
- Completion of a medical assistant training program (Certification preferred)
- Prior experience in a clinical or healthcare setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic healthcare procedures
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems
