Medical Mandarin Interpreter (Full-Time, Onsite)

Job Summary:
Big Language Solutions is seeking a dedicated and professional Medical Mandarin Interpreter to join our team at either our Tampa, FL or Phoenix, AZ location. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the well-being of diverse communities by facilitating accurate and culturally sensitive communication between healthcare providers and Mandarin-speaking patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret medical conversations accurately and confidentially between healthcare providers and Mandarin-speaking patients in real-time.
Ensure cultural nuances and context are considered to provide accurate interpretation.
Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and other regulations.
Support healthcare teams in understanding and addressing cultural differences during patient interactions.
Participate in ongoing professional development and training to maintain and enhance interpretation skills.
Shifts Offered (PST):
Shift 1: 5:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Shift 2: 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Shift 3: 11:30 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Qualifications:
Language Proficiency: Fluency in Mandarin and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
Certification: Certified Medical Interpreter (CMI) or Certified Healthcare Interpreter (CHI) preferred but it is not required.
Experience: Prior experience in a medical or healthcare setting is required.
Professional Skills: Strong understanding of medical terminology, cultural competence, and excellent interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and other healthcare-related policies.
