It is the mission of the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) to continually enhance the professionalism of California law enforcement in serving its communities.

POST is recruiting for the position of LEC II in the Training Delivery and Compliance Bureau (TDC). TDC is responsible for the development of training curricula for California Peace Officers.

Working Conditions

This position is located at POST headquarters in West Sacramento, CA. The office is located in a two-story building with a business park setting.

Regular and consistent attendance is critical to the successful performance of this position.

This position is Hybrid and may be eligible for telework, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Special Requirements

NOTE: Fingerprint (Live Scan) and Background Investigation will be required.

A  COMPLETE STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS (SOQ) IS REQUIRED TO BE SUBMITTED ALONG WITH YOUR STATE APPLICATION. IF THE SOQ IS NOT SUBMITTED THE APPLICANT WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR AN INTERVIEW.

THE SOQ SHOULD BE TYPED ON 8 ½  X 11 PAPER USING 12-POINT ARIAL FONT, INCLUDING THE APPLICANT'S FULL NAME AND DATE AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE. RESPONSES SHOULD NOT EXCEED 1 PAGE PER QUESTION.

1. Provide a narrative summary of your professional experience as it relates to the Peace Officer Standards and Training Law Enforcement Consultant classification.

1. Provide an example of a task where you independently gathered and presented feedback from stakeholders to assess the effectiveness of training programs, leading to improvements and enhancements.

1. Provide your experience with conducting investigations within a law enforcement setting, including any notable cases of outcomes.

Please note : POST is a CalPERS participating agency. If you are currently retired from a CalPERS participating agency/department you will have to reinstate from retirement in order to work as a permanent, full-time employee.
