Job Description

A global automotive parts manufacturer in the Lexington, KY area is seeking an experienced Injection Molding Technical Manager to support their operations. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of injection molding or plastics experience, and the ability to troubleshoot molds, equipment, and manufacturing processes to improve standards of quality across multiple company locations.

This is a full-time and direct-hire position, including medical/dental/vision/life insurances, 401k with 4% matching, and more. The salary range for this role is $75,000 - 80,000.

Responsibilities:

• Support various injection molding projects, process development, and training methods for the company
• Travel for two weeks each month to other company locations in the region (southeastern and midwestern United States) to assist with process development, mold design, material specifications, and provide training to operators and technicians
• Provide technical support for new and ongoing projects, collaborating cross-functionally with sales and equipment teams on tooling, materials, and process
• Enhance production capabilities and product quality, with an eye towards continuous improvement and a commitment to safety
• Develop robust technical training requirements for process technicians, including multiple skill levels and associated compensation
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of experience in injection molding operations, preferably in an automotive or lean manufacturing environment
• Able to travel up to 50% regionally to other company locations
• KEYENCE PLC and controller knowledge is preferred
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, and prior experience in a supervisory or training/mentoring role
