Executive Director

Organization Overview

Haven Center is a non-profit organization that helps men and women facing unplanned pregnancies by providing the knowledge, resources, and compassionate support they need to choose life. We offer life-affirming services to empower individuals in making informed decisions for themselves and their babies.

Position Overview

The Executive Director is responsible for leading Haven Center’s day-to-day operations and long-term strategy. This includes managing staff, raising funds, and engaging with the community to further the mission of supporting those in need. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will focus on delivering exceptional client services while ensuring the organization is financially stable and impactful.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Strategy
  • Lead Haven Center with a focus on providing compassionate care and life-affirming services to clients.
  • Work with the Board to develop and implement strategies that support the organization’s mission.
  • Ensure all programs and services meet the needs of clients and the community.
Service and Client Management
  • Oversee client services, ensuring they are accessible, effective, and aligned with the organization’s mission to support life-affirming decisions.
  • Continuously improve services based on client feedback and community needs.
  • Build strong relationships with clients to ensure they receive the best possible support.
Fundraising and Financial Management
  • Lead fundraising efforts, including building relationships with donors, securing grants, and managing events.

  • Ensure the organization operates within its budget and makes the best use of its resources.
  • Report on financial health to the Board and make sure the organization remains sustainable.
Staff and Volunteer Leadership
  • Hire, train, and lead staff and volunteers, fostering a positive and mission-driven workplace.
  • Provide regular feedback and support to help staff and volunteers grow in their roles.
  • Build a strong volunteer program to expand the organization’s impact.
Community and Public Engagement
  • Represent Haven Center in the community, raising awareness of the organization’s mission.
  • Build partnerships with other organizations and community leaders to expand services.
  • Speak at events and engage with media to promote Haven Center’s life-affirming work.
Governance and Accountability
  • Work closely with the Board of Directors to keep them informed on operations and financial matters.
  • Ensure all activities are aligned with Haven Center’s mission and values, maintaining transparency and accountability.
  • Make sure the organization complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
  • Passion for Haven Center’s mission of providing life-affirming support to those facing unplanned pregnancies.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required; a background in nonprofit management, healthcare, or related fields is preferred.
  • Leadership experience in a nonprofit or similar organization.
  • Strong fundraising skills, including donor relations and grant writing.
  • Experience managing programs and staff, with a focus on client-centered services.
  • Ability to manage finances and work within a budget.
  • Strong communication skills, both in public speaking and writing.
