Job Description

NEWaukee is seeking a detail-oriented and creatively driven Event Planner to support the design, logistics, and execution of experiences for both the NEWaukee brand and our client partners.

NEWaukee is an engagement agency that builds transformational in-person experiences that create joy, spark trust, and strengthen the connection between organizations and the people they serve. Our clients include Baird, Harley-Davidson Foundation, North Shore Bank, Sargento, and many others.

In this role, you will own programs from concept through execution—ensuring every experience aligns with client goals, delivers measurable impact, and reflects NEWaukee’s high standard for hospitality and design.

On any given day, you might be meeting with clients, coordinating vendors, shaping production plans, updating budgets, or running point on-site. Your communication, attention to detail, and ability to anticipate needs will be essential in delivering moments that stand out in a noisy, AI-saturated world.

This role collaborates closely with our Experience Design, Creative, and Marketing teams and contributes insights that inform future programming, client strategy, and NEWaukee’s Brand Trust Quotient (BTQ) work.

This is a full-time role based in Milwaukee, WI. While we are a remote-first company, this position requires frequent in-person event activation.

What You’ll Do

  • Meet with clients to clarify program goals, audience insights, scope, and budget
  • Collaborate with the Event Production team to shape event concepts and run-of-show
  • Build production timelines, program plans, and detailed logistics documents
  • Manage program budgets, vendor contracts, and ongoing financial tracking
  • Lead onsite production including load-in, setup, run-of-show, troubleshooting, and breakdown
  • Coordinate all event partners—venues, AV, caterers, performers, speakers, community partners, etc.
  • Work with the Creative Team to support design needs, marketing assets, and photo/video coordination
  • Support digital or hybrid programming with platform setup and technical readiness
  • Capture event metrics and produce post-event recaps that communicate value, insights, and opportunities
  • Occasionally supervise additional staff, volunteers, or contractors during large-scale productions
  • Uphold NEWaukee’s standards for hospitality, accessibility, joy, and trust-building across all programs

What You’ll Need

  • 1–3 years of experience in event production, event marketing or experiential programming (small and/or large scale)
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple timelines simultaneously
  • A passion for community-building and designing experiences people feel
  • Creative problem-solving ability and a willingness to experiment and iterate
  • Strong project management, vendor management, and budgeting skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Comfort with using (or learning) tools including Google Suite, Slack, Mailchimp, Eventbrite, Asana (or similar PM tools), Zoom, and basic AI tools
  • Reliable transportation for events across the Milwaukee region
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as required by programming
  • Ability to lift/move supplies (up to ~25 lbs) and work indoor/outdoor events in varying conditions

Additional Details

  • Full-time role with benefits
  • Must live in or relocate to Milwaukee due to in-person programming requirements
  • Flexible work culture with generous PTO and autonomy

This role reports to the VP of Operations.
