Job Description

A prominent tech and retail company is seeking an Email Campaign Manager to lead the development and execution of a high-profile email newsletter initiative, reaching over 500,000 subscribers. This contract role is ideal for someone with a passion for email marketing who thrives in managing complex projects and collaborating with multiple teams. You’ll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the newsletter process — from crafting compelling content and optimizing audience segmentation to scheduling and analyzing campaign performance. In this role, you’ll get the chance to impact engagement directly, working with cross-functional teams to deliver timely, effective communications that resonate with a large audience.

Responsibilities:
  • Campaign Management: Take charge of the full workflow for a major email newsletter program, ensuring smooth coordination across teams and adherence to timelines.
  • Content Creation: Write, edit, and optimize email content, including attention-grabbing subject lines, headlines, and body copy that align with the brand's voice and objectives.
  • Template Management: Utilize email marketing tools (such as Marketo) to design and customize templates, ensuring that each newsletter looks great on all devices.
  • Audience Segmentation: Work with data teams to segment the email list based on relevant customer data (e.g., behavior, demographics) to ensure personalized content that drives higher engagement.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with design, product, and marketing teams to collect assets, review materials, and manage feedback cycles, ensuring quality and accuracy before sending.
  • Performance Tracking: Analyze key email metrics (e.g., open rates, click-through rates, conversions) and provide actionable insights to improve future campaigns.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously identify ways to enhance workflows, streamline communication, and stay ahead of email marketing trends.
  • Leadership: Lead a small team through each campaign, ensuring deadlines are met and work is completed with attention to detail.
Qualifications:
  • Education: A degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience: At least 2-4 years of experience in email marketing, with hands-on experience managing large-scale campaigns.
  • Skills:
  • Email Tools: Proficiency in email platforms like Marketo (or similar) for building, customizing, and sending templated emails.
  • Content Creation: Strong writing skills with experience in creating engaging, customer-facing content, including subject lines, copy, and CTAs.
  • Segmentation & Analysis: Ability to segment audiences effectively and analyze campaign performance data to refine strategies.
  • Project Management: Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while keeping everything on track.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills, with experience collaborating across teams and presenting campaign results to stakeholders.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with high-volume email marketing programs.
  • Familiarity with A/B testing and email optimization techniques.
  • Knowledge of email best practices, deliverability, and analytics tools.
Work Environment:
  • Location: This is an in-office role based in Seattle, requiring a full-time, on-site commitment.
  • Hours: Full-time with occasional flexible hours as needed for specific campaign deadlines.
  • Reports To: Marketing Manager or Director of Email Marketing.
  • Team Environment: You'll be working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a mix of creative and technical teams.
