Job Description

Spyglass Talent Solutions, a boutique talent solutions firm based in Raleigh, NC, is partnering with WILDERS to find a Director of Market Operations.

WILDERS is an agricultural venture based in Clayton, NC to supply locally grown, ethically sourced, and sustainably produced meat products and is a subsidiary of StayWild. Founded by Reid and Jaclyn Smith, WILDERS is dedicated to building the local economy, fostering community, and celebrating the hard work and talent of small businesses—because we truly are better together.

The Director of Market Operations will play a critical role in advancing the vision of WILDERS by managing the company’s sales operations and distribution. This role requires exceptional leadership and the ability to oversee multiple areas, including but not limited to logistics, sales, retail, and customer service. Through collaboration and a forward-thinking approach, the Director of Market Operations will drive alignment and efficiency across all areas of the organization, fostering growth and operational success.

Responsibilities:

Logistics:

  • Oversee and manage e-commerce packing and shipping operations.
  • Receive, organize, and maintain inventory – simple terms: keep the freezers organized.
  • Conduct shipping cost analysis and ensure cost-effective delivery processes.
  • Manage fulfillment for retail, wholesale, and restaurant orders.
  • Oversee procurement and stock of boxing and shipping materials.

Sales:

  • Maintain and update wholesale price lists and marketing materials.
  • Engage and maintain relationships with wholesale customers and restaurants.
  • Develop and implement strategies to expand subscription services.
  • Supervise sales associates for farmers' markets and special events.

Retail:

  • Manage the company’s Shopify platform for product listings and updates.
  • Conduct research, development, and sourcing for new product lines.
  • Assist in staffing and managing employees at retail locations.

Customer Service:

  • Manage the customer service communication platform (e.g., Dialpad).
  • Address customer complaints and ensure prompt resolution.
  • Develop and implement a customer loyalty program.
  • Oversee customer communications and maintain strong relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in logistics, retail, or sales management, with a strong focus on e-commerce operations and the unique demands of the food and agriculture industries.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to oversee multiple areas effectively.
  • Experience with inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipping processes.
  • Proficiency in Shopify or other e-commerce platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience in customer service and team management.
  • Ability to analyze costs, optimize processes, and implement improvements to drive efficiency.
  • Experience in supervising and mentoring staff across different areas.
