About the job Lead the Mongolia programme for the world's largest conservation organization Drive conservation impact in one of the most ecologically unique regions Ulaanbaatar/onsite. WWF-Mongolia was established in 1992 by the invitation of the Government of Mongolia and later officially registered as branch of WWF International. WWF-Mongolia focuses its efforts on critical conservation issues in two of the world’s most outstanding places for biodiversity conservation, the Altai-Sayan Ecoregion – ‘Land of the Snow Leopard’ in Western Mongolia and Amur-Heilong Ecoregion Complex – ‘The Beauty of Peaceful Black Dragon’ in Eastern Mongolia. With 50 highly experienced staff members located in the head office in Ulaanbaatar and two branch offices, WWF-Mongolia is one of the most experienced conservation organizations in the country.Find out more at RoleAs Country Director, you will shape and lead WWF’s strategy and conservation agenda in Mongolia, ensuring alignment with WWF’s global goals while responding to national and regional conservation challenges. This is an influential leadership position requiring vision, diplomacy, and the ability to drive impact at scale.Key aspects of the role include: Providing strategic leadership and vision for WWF-Mongolia. Driving the development and implementation of national conservation priorities aligned with WWF’s global strategy. Leading a multidisciplinary team and ensuring high standards in governance, performance, and impact. Growing WWF-Mongolia’s funding base across corporate, philanthropic, and institutional sources. Strengthening WWF’s influence and visibility in Mongolia, Building strategic partnerships with government, NGOs, local communities and the private sector.
