Hellas, Inc., the #1 Sports Construction company in North America , is seeking an experienced Estimator to assist a fast-paced construction company in Austin. The successful candidate will have 4-5 years of experience estimating ground up civil construction projects . This role involves preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for projects ranging from $200K to $25M, with an average project size of $1.2-$1.5M.

Hellas is the only fully integrated sports construction company, controlling all business operations to deliver its products directly to the end-user, including marketing, sales, quality control, project management, maintenance, and warranty.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Review construction documents and perform precise takeoffs for civil construction-related quantities.
• Submit requests for information (RFIs) to clarify existing conditions and proposed improvements, ensuring timely communication with the design professional responsible.
• Develop and foster relationships with materials suppliers and subcontractors within all market areas.
• Perform quantity takeoffs, solicitation, and scope reviews for building estimates.
• Analyze historical cost data to determine accurate pricing.
• Provide value engineering options to enhance contract award opportunities.
• Prepare and solicit bid requests for subcontractors.
• Review subcontractor quotes for scope compliance and explore buyout opportunities.
• Conduct site visits for future bids to evaluate existing conditions and the proposed scope of work.
• Attend pre-construction meetings to collect all relevant data.
• Assist with project phase and resource scheduling.
• Prepare detailed documentation files for handoff to the operations department for project implementation.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 4-5 years of experience in civil construction estimating, with familiarity in concrete, asphalt, aggregates, fencing, electrical, landscaping, irrigation, liners, and pipe systems.
• Experience with storm water and sewer utilities is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in estimating software and MS Office Suite.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
• Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
