Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Communications Officer for a prominent organization dedicated to community engagement and leadership development. This hybrid position is based in the Greenwich Village area of Manhattan, NY, and will require you to be onsite three to four days per week.

POSITION OVERVIEW

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Communications Officer to lead and shape the digital and traditional communications strategy for a mission-driven institution. The Communications Officer will be responsible for developing compelling content, overseeing the execution of communications plans, and collaborating with various departments to engage a diverse, international, and intergenerational audience. A strong communicator and storyteller, the ideal candidate will excel at both strategy and execution, driving the institution's mission forward.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the development and execution of content strategies to align with the organization's mission and strategic goals.
• Work closely with key teams in recruitment, development, and alumni relations to attract and engage prospective students, donors, and the broader community.
• Promote achievements of students, faculty, and alumni to foster recruitment, retention, and engagement.
• Oversee editorial content to ensure accessibility, diversity, and alignment with organizational values.
• Collaborate with internal teams to manage communications for public events, fundraising campaigns, and special offerings.
• Supervise content creation and coordination for digital and print media, ensuring high-quality, on-brand communication across platforms.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with experience creating content for a variety of audiences.
• Strong knowledge of social media platforms and emerging communication technologies.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and collaborate effectively across teams.
• Proven ability to supervise and mentor staff, setting clear expectations and fostering a positive team culture.
• Knowledge of branding and messaging strategies, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The organization offers a competitive salary range of $80,000-100,000, depending on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision coverage.
