Job Description

SASCO is a very successful and profitable Electric and Data contractor. It has been in business for 57 years and has been led by the founder and Chairman. It is the founders desire to find a Chief Operations Officer for Support to SASCO (the builders of projects).

The Chief Operations Officer & Operations Executive reports to the President and Chairman, and will collaborate with them to “learn” the business. This requires him/her to be data driven, have a strong executive background in operations, and ideally accounting background. This includes working closely with the Controller, Custom Computing, IT, Administration, Human Resources, Legal, Safety, Audit, Warehouse, Bonding and Banking, Facilities, and the SASCO Executive Team. The ideal candidate will have served as a President, COO, CEO, CAO or similar.

  • Overall management and responsibility of company-wide support duties (everything that has to do with the administration side of running the business, except the construction side of “getting the job, and getting the job done”). This includes:
  • Warehouse Operations
  • Accounting
  • All Insurance including claims, policies, and tracking of insured assets
  • Human resources, Office Management, and Recruiting
  • Legal
  • Acquisition and tracking of company vehicles including insurance, registration, and maintenance
  • Maintaining accurate list of company-wide fixed assets
  • Acquisition, maintaining, and administration of facilities and company owned or leased properties
  • Direct the development and implementation (and subsequent interpretation) of corporate and department standards and procedures
  • Either directly or through subordinate managers, insures all departmental and company policies, procedures and standards are adhered to
  • Hire, fire, train and mentor. Teambuilding is a must

Preferred Requirements:

  • 4 yr degree with 8-10 yrs administrative departmental supervisory experience.
  • Background in facilities management, commercial insurance, health insurance, workers compensation, compensation and benefits, bonding, and corporate recreational properties preferred.
  • Experience in developing overhead allocations and maintaining intercompany and/or interdivisional accounts.
  • The ideal candidate will have served as a President, COO, CEO, CAO or similar.
  • Experience as a Controller and/or CFO in their career progression is a plus
  • Expert in financial reports - GAAP and management reports.
  • CPA or MBA preferred but not required
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work well under pressure within a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to identify issues and solutions and ensure timely project completion with minimal supervision.
  • Strong leadership skills required.
  • Construction industry experience is a plus, but not required.
