Role Description
This role is for a lab-based product formulator / technical support. The job is 80% lab, 20% travel formulating metal pretreatment products and technically supporting the product line. The role also includes being part of the team updating / modernizing the zinc phosphate line of products to automotive and appliance standards. This would include new formulations and all operational materials.
Essential Functions
-Manage multiple projects simultaneously
-Ability to identify and document findings, abnormal conditions and offer recommendations.
-Effectively communicate and work collaboratively with team members, as well as other cross functional support employees.
This technical leader would report to the vice president. Role will be lab focused, with some customer facing for technical and marketing assistance. Potential for continued growth as experience and role develops.
Qualifications
-minimum 5 years experience in industrial chemical formulation / technical applications
-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
-Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
-Ability to operate as a team and independently with minimal supervision
-strong time management skills with attention to detail
-working knowledge metal pre-paint surface preparation (cleaning, pickling, deoxidizing, alkaline and neutral derusting, iron phosphate, zirconium and transition metal treatments) preferred
