Job Description

Looking for 2 phlebotomist with at least 2 years of experience in a clinic or hospital. Shifts are: M -Fri 8:30 am - 5:pm or 7:30 am - 4:30 pm

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Phlebotomy Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing blood draws and specimen collection while ensuring patient comfort and safety. This role requires a strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and laboratory techniques to effectively carry out duties in a hospital or clinical setting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary blood sampling on patients of all ages, ensuring accurate specimen collection.
  • Process specimens according to established protocols, maintaining the integrity of samples for laboratory analysis.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety and infection control standards.
  • Provide excellent patient service by explaining procedures to patients, addressing their concerns, and ensuring their comfort during the blood draw process.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate specimen delivery to the laboratory.
  • Document all procedures accurately in patient records, including any adverse reactions or complications.
  • Stay updated on medical terminology and laboratory techniques relevant to phlebotomy practices.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of human physiology and anatomy as it relates to blood collection.
  • Familiarity with specimen collection processing and laboratory techniques.
  • Experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred.
  • Proficient understanding of medical terminology related to phlebotomy practices.
  • Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare staff.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Certification in phlebotomy or relevant training is highly desirable.
