Successful candidates will work within a consulting practice or a financial institution providing challenging project-based services within Financial Services, covering areas such as electronic markets, trading, and risk management. Projects can be performed either on the client site on a Hybrid work basis. This role requires a proactive, team-oriented, and ambitious individual focused on delivering results, while always remaining diligent and professional.

Job Description

Seeking a proactive, team-oriented C++ developer with a strong focus on results. This hands-on role requires strong C++ and SQL skills. The role is a mix of initiatives and BAU work, requiring 3 days in-office presence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and optimize C++ applications for trading systems, risk management, and analytics.
  • Collaborate with traders, quants, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and create effective solutions.
  • Experience working in fixed income transaction processing with good knowledge of fixed income products is preferred.
  • Implement and enhance trading algorithms, execution strategies, and real-time data processing functionalities.
  • Good understanding on OOP fundamentals, Data structures, Design patterns, STL templates.
  • Good knowledge and experience with message based systems (Tibco RV/IBM, MQ/Zero MQ).
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure high coding standards and best practices within the team.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software issues, providing timely solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, trading technologies, and financial instruments to inform development efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of proven experience as a C++ Developer, preferably in the capital markets or trading domain.
  • Strong understanding of trading systems, financial products, and market operations.
  • Experience with real-time data processing and high-frequency trading strategies is a plus.
  • Strong SQL and related DB skills – indexing, transaction management (Sybase/Oracle/MS SQL).
  • Good working knowledge of software configuration management systems - bug tracking, source control, build management (JIRA/SVN/Git/Cruise Control).
  • Familiarity with development tools and methodologies (e.g., Git, Agile, TDD).
  • Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and performance optimization techniques.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with other programming languages (e.g., Python, Perl, Java) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of market data feeds and APIs (e.g., FIX protocol).
  • Prior Repo/Sec Lending/Collateral management experience is a plus.
  • FIS/SunGard Martini/APEX and/or other Repo trading platform experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

**The base salary range for this role is $110,000 - $150,000**
