Job Description

A leading global law firm is seeking a Business Development Specialist to support the strategic growth of its Houston office, with a core focus on Energy & Infrastructure. This is a high-visibility, hands-on role that partners closely with the Houston-based Business Development Manager, firm leadership, and attorneys to drive business development initiatives and raise the firm’s profile in the market.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop tailored client pitches, RFP responses, and marketing collateral for energy-sector matters
• Coordinate sponsorships, client events, and industry conferences in partnership with the Events team
• Manage experience and deal data for pitches, submissions, awards, and internal communications
• Lead or assist with legal directory and league table submissions related to Energy and Project Finance
• Conduct market research on clients, prospects, and industry trends to inform BD strategy
• Partner with internal communications teams to craft content that elevates the firm’s presence in the sector
• Maintain accurate mailing lists and CRM data for targeted business development outreach

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required
• 4+ years of experience in business development or marketing in a law firm or professional services environment
• Deep understanding of the energy industry, including oil & gas and project finance markets
• Strong writing, editing, and presentation skills
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with all levels of stakeholders
• Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; CRM/database experience a plus
