About the role
The Business Analyst (BA) will support the implementation, configuration, and continuous improvement of the GEL LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System). You will work closely with laboratory staff, developers, and IT personnel to gather requirements, analyze workflows, test LIMS functionalities, and ensure the system supports operational excellence.


Duties include but not limited to:
As a Business Analyst, you will be responsible for

  • Requirements Gathering & Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders, document system requirements, map processes, and support functional/technical specifications.
  • LIMS Implementation & Configuration: Assist in LIMS configuration, coordinate customizations, and participate in data migration and integration.
  • Testing & Validation: Develop test cases, perform system testing, support user acceptance testing, and document issues for resolution.
  • Training & Support: Create user guides, provide first-level support, escalate technical issues, and deliver training sessions.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation, generate reports, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

About you:
* Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
* 0-2 years of experience in Business Analysis, LIMS, or lab support; laboratory experience preferred.
* Internships or coursework in laboratory informatics or systems analysis is a plus.
* Must be available to travel 3-4 weeks per year and have a valid driver's license.

Working conditions:
* Sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time, up to eight (8) hours per business day
* Must be able to stand, bend, push, pull, stoop and crouch frequently while performing the duties of this position
* Must be able to lift (with both hands) and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move heavier loads with assistance
* Must be able to interact and communicate effectively with panelists
