Contract to Hire

We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Solutions Architect for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions on AWS. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on architecture experience, can engage with both technical and business stakeholders, and is comfortable transitioning into a long-term role.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect AWS cloud solutions aligned with business, security, and performance requirements
• Lead cloud architecture discussions, solution designs, and technical decision-making
• Develop and review AWS reference architectures, diagrams, and design documentation
• Support cloud migrations from on-prem or hybrid environments to AWS
• Implement best practices for scalability, availability, security, and cost optimization
• Work closely with DevOps, application, data, and security teams to ensure seamless integration
• Provide guidance on Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
• Participate in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and performance tuning
• Mentor engineers and provide architectural oversight during implementation
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of overall IT experience with 4+ years of hands-on AWS architecture experience
• Strong knowledge of AWS services including EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS/EKS, CloudWatch, and Route 53
• Experience designing highly available, fault-tolerant, and secure cloud architectures
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Strong understanding of networking, security, and identity management in AWS
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or Professional
• Experience with hybrid cloud or multi-cloud environments
• Exposure to containerization and Kubernetes

Experience supporting regulated or enterprise environments (Utilities, Energy, Finance, Healthcare a plus)
