Job Description

📍 Onsite - [Miami, FL] | 💼 6-Month Temp with Potential to Go Permanent

$33.75-$39.00/hr DOE

A well-respected nonprofit organization is seeking a passionate and service-oriented Attorney to join their team supporting tenant rights advocacy and housing justice. This is an onsite position, initially temporary for 6 months , with the possibility of becoming permanent based on performance and organizational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent and advocate for tenants facing eviction, unsafe housing conditions, or landlord disputes
  • Provide legal advice, draft pleadings, and appear in court on behalf of low-income clients
  • Conduct client intakes, investigations, and outreach as part of a larger housing justice initiative
  • Collaborate with social workers, community advocates, and staff attorneys to holistically support client needs
  • Stay current on local housing ordinances, tenant protection laws, and policy changes

Qualifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of [Insert State]
  • 0-3 years of experience preferred, though all backgrounds will be considered
  • Passion for housing rights, social justice, and serving underrepresented communities
  • Strong interpersonal and advocacy skills
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus

Compensation:

  • $33.75-$39.00 per hour, depending on experience
