Job Description

Position Overview:

Duck Creek RV Resort is seeking a dependable, motivated, and hands-on Assistant Director of Facilities to support and enhance the maintenance and operations of our premier resort. This position focuses on the upkeep and functionality of pools, water slides, amenities, irrigation systems, buildings, and campsites. The ideal candidate will work side-by-side with the maintenance team while assisting in supervision, training, and ensuring high standards of guest satisfaction and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilities Maintenance:
  • Oversee and assist in the daily operation and maintenance of resort infrastructure, including buildings, pools, water slides, public restrooms, restaurant, and campsites.
  • Conduct routine inspections and repairs to ensure all areas are clean, safe, and fully operational.
  • Support seasonal opening and closing of resort facilities (pool systems, irrigation, etc.).
  • Water Features & Irrigation:
  • Maintain proper water quality, chemical balance, and mechanical operation of pools and water slides in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor and maintain irrigation systems to ensure efficient and effective landscape care.
  • Leadership & Supervision:
  • Provide hands-on leadership to maintenance staff by setting the example in work ethic, professionalism, and guest service.
  • Assist the Director of Facilities in planning daily work assignments, supervising team members, and ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Train seasonal and full-time staff on equipment use, safety practices, and maintenance protocols.
  • Customer Service:
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest concerns related to resort facilities.
  • Maintain a clean, welcoming environment for all guests.
  • Administrative Support:
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and equipment usage.
  • Assist in managing maintenance supply inventory and coordinating with vendors when needed.
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in facilities, maintenance, grounds-keeping, or a similar hands-on trade.
  • Prior experience in pool/water feature maintenance strongly preferred (CPO certification a plus).
  • Working knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and irrigation systems.
  • Ability to lead by example and foster a productive, respectful team environment.
  • Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and a flexible schedule during peak season.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.
  • Comfortable working around water features, chemicals, and power tools.
