Summary

The Assist Construction/Facilities Manager supports the Construction/Facilities Manager in maintaining all current and future buildings owned or leased by Sierra Central Credit Union. This role contributes to the planning and coordination of facility projects, including renovations and acquisitions, with a focus on cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include managing the inventory of fixed assets, overseeing their transfer, disposition, or donation, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations regarding the collection, retention, and destruction of Credit Union documents.

Essential Functions

  • Assist with the maintenance of all Sierra Central buildings, whether owned or leased.
  • Coordinate and schedule building projects and renovations for current and future Sierra Central properties.
  • Perform inspections of Sierra Central properties to evaluate suitability for occupancy, considering factors such as cost, location, size, and visibility, as directed by senior management.
  • Direct contractors involved in moving furniture and equipment, and in preparing facilities for occupancy.
  • Meet with vendors to analyze services, obtain periodic bids, and negotiate for quality, service, and pricing.
  • Maintain service records for facilities and equipment.
  • Maintain a routine maintenance log for all departments and branches to ensure regular cleaning and upkeep of interior furnishings.
  • Maintain a routine maintenance log for all credit union buildings to ensure regular cleaning and upkeep of exterior areas.
  • Coordinate renovation and building work—both on-site and off-site—with ISIT Department.
  • Conduct inspections, track movement, and maintain accurate inventory of fixed assets.
  • Collaborate with the Accounting Department to maintain fixed asset records.
  • Schedule pick-up, storage, and destruction of Credit Union documents.
  • Maintain document inventory and assist departments with retrieval and replacement of archived items.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to speak and present information effectively.
  • Flexible, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, with the ability to generate various reports as requested by senior management.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment and the ability to follow instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Capable of scheduling and supervising contractors for building repairs and maintenance projects, while minimizing costs and disruptions to staff and members.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively assist the Construction/Facilities Manager in the construction, maintenance, and repair of all Sierra Central buildings.
  • Able to perform well under pressure and manage multiple, sometimes conflicting, deadlines.
  • Consistently demonstrates cooperative and professional behavior when interacting with colleagues and supervisors.

Education And Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; Three to five years of related experience and/or training preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems to perform basic input and output tasks.
