ViewRay Systems designs, manufactures, and markets the MRIdian A3i® radiation therapy system to treat cancer patients with the smallest radiation therapy margins available with the highest patient throughput demonstrated for the most complicated cases The system treats by aligning the sharpest radiation therapy beam on the market to diagnostic quality magnetic resonance images (MRIs) of the patient, adapts the treatment plan to the reality of the patient, and then uses the real-time MRIs to control the beam and record real-time doses delivered to the patient.
Job Description
ViewRay Systems is currently seeking an AI Scientist, to perform physics and multi-physics modeling in the areas of ionizing-radiation transport, thermal, mechanical, and electricity and magnetism modeling to support the development of novel cancer therapy systems. In this role, you will be at the forefront of AI innovation, developing novel algorithms, methodologies, and technologies to advance the field of AI and opportunity to work on groundbreaking AI research with real-world impact. Responsibilities:
• Conduct groundbreaking research in AI, focusing on areas such as machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, and computer vision
• Design and execute complex experiments to test and validate new AI models and algorithms
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to apply research outcomes to real-world problems and product development
• Publish research findings in top-tier journals and present at prestigious conferences
• Mentor junior researchers and contribute to the growth of the AI research team
• Research and publish latest advancements in AI and propose innovative solutions to emerging challenges
Qualifications:
• M.S./PhD in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering Artificial Intelligence, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of postdoctoral or biotech engineering industry research experience in AI2
• Strong publication record in peer-reviewed AI journals and conferences3
• Expertise in programming languages such as Python, Tensorflow, PyTorch libraries
• Profound understanding of machine learning, neural networks, and computational statistics3
• Demonstrated ability to lead research projects and mentor junior team members2
• Expertise in developing AI models using ResNet, U-Net, VQ-VAE, GAN, Transformers in the Image recognition, classification, segmentation and/or tracking applications.
• Experience in understanding and quantifying model accuracy, stability, and precision metrics.
• Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills23
• Support for continued professional development and conference attendance
