Job Title: Accountant

Location: Castle Rock, CO

Reports To: Assistant Controller

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, specifically within the construction industry, and will be responsible for managing job cost accounting, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain accurate job cost records for multiple construction projects
• Review and track project budgets, costs, change orders, and billing
• Work closely with project managers and operations teams to ensure costs are properly coded and accounted for
• Perform monthly job cost reconciliations and variance analyses
• Prepare financial statements and reports related to job costing, WIP schedules, and gross margin analyses
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes
• Assist with subcontractor compliance, including lien waivers and insurance tracking
• Ensure accuracy in accounts payable and receivable entries related to projects
• Collaborate with external auditors and assist with year-end audits
• Maintain compliance with GAAP and company policies

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
• 3+ years of accounting experience in the construction industry (required)
• Strong understanding of job cost accounting principles and construction project financials
• Proficiency with an ERP software
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills
• Ability to communicate effectively across departments
